Network Commissioning

Commissioning is the critical final milestone — where your physical infrastructure becomes a live, operational network. Our commissioning engineers work systematically through every circuit, path, and service to verify end-to-end performance, configure active equipment, and formally hand over a fully certified network to your operations team or end client. We run industry-leading 100G BERT (Bit Error Rate Tests) as standard — giving you definitive proof that every high-capacity path is error-free before go-live.

  • End-to-end circuit acceptance testing and sign-off
  • Active equipment installation and configuration (switches, OLTs, transceivers)
  • Service turn-up and validation including live traffic testing
  • 100G BERT testing— Bit Error Rate Testing at 100 Gigabit to validate zero error transmission on high-capacity circuits
  • RFC 2544 and ITU-T Y.1564 Ethernet throughput testing
  • SFP/transceiver optical power level verification

Our experienced field engineering teams deliver end-to-end fibre optic cable installation for the full range of network environments — from large-scale FTTP build programmes to individual enterprise site connections. We work across aerial, underground direct-buried, and duct-based methods, always adhering to the highest standards of workmanship and health & safety.

  • Aerial fibre installation on poles and building attachments (ADSS, figure-8, lashed)
  • Underground installation — direct buried, micro-trenching, and full reinstatement

Fibre Splicing & Termination

Precise splicing and termination are fundamental to a high-performance optical network. Our fusion splicing technicians are trained to the highest industry standards, delivering consistently low-loss joints across all fibre types, counts, and environments. Whether you need a single joint in a live network or a full multi-fibre termination of a major cable deployment, our teams deliver to specification every time.

  • Fusion splicing of single-mode (OS1/OS2) and multimode (OM1–OM5) fibres
  • Mass fusion splicing for high-count cables and ribbon fibre
  • Mechanical splicing and field-installable connectors
  • Pigtail termination and patch panel build-out
  • Jointing and sealing of outdoor closures (in-line, dome, wall-mounted)
  • Emergency repair splicing including same-day and out-of-hours response
  • Splice loss measurement and individual splice record production
  • Working in confined spaces, pits, ducts, and elevated platforms

Site Survey

Every successful optical network begins with a thorough, accurate site survey. Our experienced survey teams assess proposed routes and existing infrastructure to provide a complete picture of what’s required before any design or civil work begins. We identify potential risks, access constraints, and opportunities to optimise your network route early — saving time and cost downstream.

  • Detailed route surveys for aerial, underground, and duct-based networks
  • Assessment of existing duct, pole, and cabinet infrastructure
  • Identification of hazards, access restrictions, and utility conflicts
  • GIS mapping and GPS-referenced survey outputs
  • Photographic records and condition reporting
  • FTTP, FTTN, FTTH, and enterprise campus survey coverage
  • Deliverables formatted for direct use in network design tools

Project Management

Delivering complex network infrastructure projects on time, on budget, and to scope requires experienced, dedicated project management. Our PMs embed within your programme from day one — managing resources, risks, milestones, and stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle. We use proven methodologies and tooling to give you complete visibility and confidence at every stage.

  • End-to-end programme and project management (PRINCE2/APM aligned)
  • Multi-disciplinary resource planning and subcontractor management
